HMAE: Dynamics of Machining of Hard Metals for Aero-Engine Components
This in-depth training course is focused on the high-performance machining of hard metal alloys such as Titanium and stainless steels among others commonly machined for Aero-Engine Components.
Dynamic behavior is unique to every setup of machine, spindle, work holder tool and workpiece and therefore needs to be considered independently of other machining technologies. The training will provide a background in vibrations and application to machining operations with hands-on practice in extracting the dynamic parameters of machining systems (which includes emphasis on cutting tool, holder and spindle which are critical components) to identify optimal cutting conditions for these materials. In addition workpiece and fixture influences will be covered as well including impact on NC programming strategies to minimize the effect of project and fixture flexibility. Other benefits of vibration characterization will be covered as well including impact on NC programming strategies to minimize the effect of product and fixture flexibility. Other benefits of vibration characterization will be covered including diagnosing vibration problems and ways to correct them with design or setup changes, and identifying the limiting factor in machining operation. The MLI MetalMAX system will be used in this course including detailed instruction in its use.

We offer 4 different training options to help you become proficient with our solutions.
Your Facility
Our most popular delivery option is on site training at your facility. When training at your facility, we can use your machines, holders, cutting tools, and workpieces. By training with your equipment and processes, the technology implementation is well understood quickly.
Our Facility
Many companies like to receive their training offsite where they can stay focused on learning without interruption. Our training site in Chicago, Illinois is centrally located to accommodate all domestic or international clients.
Web-Based Remote
Our most cost effective option, remote training is used when it is difficult to spend large blocks of time in training or when travel is too costly. Our web-based training will incorporate live video and screenshare technology to ensure the learning experience is effective and efficient.
Project Consulting
With project consulting, you receive the benefit of training while also realizing the benefits of the technology. With project consulting, a specific problem or initiative of yours is addressed. Companies choose this when they first want to understand how the technology will be utilized in their facility and what the anticipated results will be. This is often chosen as a first step towards full MetalMAX implementation to help companies start with a 'pilot' project.
